 America's Best & Worst Restaurants

Kid's Best & Worst Restaurants

Take all these recommendations with a grain of salt.  I would NEVER recommend Mc D's or any fast food place, other than Chik-filet or Subway, and even then you must be picky about what you get and it should be only in an emergency, not on a regular basis.

That said, these sites do give some valuable info on the foods available at the places they rate.

Cool Springs Better Choices

You can find healthier food at these Cool Springs Spots, let us know if you come up with any others!

9 Fruits on Mallory back behind either Chucky Cheese or the Chicken place.  Great smoothies better than the other smoothie place with regard to added sugar.

Caffy's - organic cafe next to Tossed on the corner of Aspen Grove and Cool Springs, don't go if you are addicted to coffee...they are a coffee shop!

Whole Foods Cool Springs food bar and salad bar, plus they have a good variety of cut up fresh fruit

Jason's Deli has organic selections on their salad bar (avoid the dressings and all the junk salads)

Ruby Tuesdays has a good salad bar (avoid the dressings and the junk salads)

J Alexanders will make you some fabulous food upon request, just tell them you are on a special diet and need mostly raw veggies with no cheese, croutons, bacon bits, etc.  Watch the dressings.

Subway's salads, hold the meats.  Teriyaki Chicken has a lot of sugar in the dressing and the croutons have high fructose corn syrup.

Publix salads at the store on Moore's Lane are fantastic, again, watch the dressings for high fructose corn syrup.  Boar's Head deli meats at Publix are good, Oven Baked Turkey and Roast Beef.  Avoid ham.

Pyramid Greek Cafe in the food court at Galleria mall has a great greek salad with cucumbers and tomatoes, add feta OR grilled chicken, not a bad choice.

Other Greek restaurants have good choices for greek salads.

PF Changs stir fry or chicken lettuce wraps, hold the sweet sauce and the MSG please.

Sunset Grill in Nashville is mostly organic.
